On 18 November 2025, 27 RDM enthusiasts from a wide range of disciplines met at the University Library to engage in conversation, exchange experiences, and jointly define the central themes and framework conditions for networking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the beginning, the coordinating <a href=\"https:\/\/researchdata.ruhr-uni-bochum.de\/en\/team-und-kontakt\/#team\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Research Data Services (RDS) team<\/a> briefly introduced themselves and gave an overview of existing RDM services at RUB \u2013 but then the focus shifted to the network itself: the participants exchanged ideas and defined the network's priorities and how the collaboration should look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an open, pleasant atmosphere \u2014 supported by coffee and cookies \u2615\ufe0f \ud83c\udf6a \u2014 numerous stimulating discussions arose around specific challenges in research data management. Three central topics emerged that are currently of particular concern to many:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>RDM Workflows and Best Practices<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Infrastructure and solutions for storing research data<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN) and documentation<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, many other concerns were raised, which the network will also address in the coming year.
