As part of Science College 2025, organized by the Research School, colleagues from the Research Data Services team Tuba Güden-Silber, Marlene Pacharra and Elena Schick had the opportunity to discuss the responsible handling of research data in depth with the participating doctoral students.
💬 After a short introductory presentation on the importance of structured research data management, the doctoral students were able to discuss a subject-specific use case in the form of a deliberately exaggerated worst-case scenario. They talked about typical hurdles and stumbling blocks that make it difficult for doctoral candidates in particular to handle research data responsibly. At the same time, possible solutions and levers were discussed that can create a reliable infrastructure and provide researchers with the best possible support in their data management.
🚀 The session provided space for lively discussions and practical reflection. We hope that the participants will return to their day-to-day research with new ideas and a heightened awareness of how to handle research data.
