Networks & Initiatives
Good RDM practice thrives on exchange, common standards, solutions, and experience. Participation in a network can be invaluable for the active exchange of experiences. On these pages, we present networks and initiatives in which you, as a researcher, can actively participate, or in which we, the Research Data Services (RDS) team, are active on your behalf.
Where can you get involved as a researcher, RDM coordinator, or data steward?
The RDM Network at RUB
The RDM network is a university-wide initiative of Ruhr University Bochum, coordinated by the RDS team. It is aimed specifically at people who are already heavily involved in RDM or plan to be in the near future – for example, as data stewards, RDM coordinators, or research RDM experts.
You can find out how to participate in the network on the subpage for the RDM network:
Nationale Forschungsdaten-infrastuktur (NFDI)
The National infrastructure for research data (NFDI) aims to systematically develop and connect valuable data resources and make them permanently accessible to the entire German science system. In order to improve or rebuild the corresponding infrastructure for research data, 26 subject-specific consortia are currently being funded by the DFG.
Researchers at Ruhr University Bochum are participating in 14 consortia. You can find an overview of this participation on our NFDI subpage:
European Data Steward Network for Open Science (EuDaNOS)
EuDaNOS is a network that brings together RDM service centers, data stewards, and researchers responsible for RDM to exchange information about current developments in RDM and open science in a structured manner. Currently, the three UA Ruhr universities are working together with Erasmus University Rotterdam and the University of Oulu within this network. The international exchange of experiences also provides the RDS team with input for the further development of its own concepts.
