On 28 April , the Research Data Management (RDM) Network at Ruhr University Bochum invites you to its next meeting. The focus will be on RDM workflows – specifically, how to organize work with research data in an efficient, structured, and traceable manner.
In short presentations, researchers and experts will demonstrate how they tackle specific challenges related to research data in their projects:
- Dominik Koch (Medical Faculty): From the motorway to the winding village lane – benefits and challenges of a uniform folder structure for research projects
- Gianluca Manca (ETIT): From GitHub to reproducible compute capsules: Publishing industrial datasets and making evaluations reproducible
- Henning Gebhard (CERES): Same same but different: Why we publish the same data multiple times
- Marina Prenzel (Plasma Science Hub): Beyond Data: Community-driven growth in SFB 1316
The event will then provide an opportunity for exchange and discussion: Which tools and structures have proven effective in day-to-day research? What challenges arise in different project phases? And which solutions can be applied across disciplines?
Date: Tuesday, 28 April 2026, at 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Location: University Library Bochum
Registration https://eveeno.com/191761572
The event offers an opportunity to exchange ideas with colleagues from various departments about practical solutions in research data management and to gain new insights for your own work. The meeting is open to anyone at RUB who works with research data—such as researchers, data stewards, project managers, or technical support staff.
