At the end of this year, Research Data Services (RDS) is pleased to announce the establishment of an Advisory Board for research data management. The Advisory Board will advise the RDS team, which consists of employees from the University Library and IT.SERVICES, on the strategic orientation and further development of infrastructures and services for research data management at RUB.

RDS is delighted that Prof. Dr. Nina Babel, Prof. Dr. Silvana Botti, Prof. Dr. Frederik Elwert, Prof. Dr. Thomas Stöllner, and Prof. Dr. Andreas Vogel have agreed to join the Advisory Board at the invitation of the Vice President for Research and Transfer, Prof. Dr. Günther Meschke. The members bring special expertise in the field of research data management, particularly through their involvement in NFDI consortia (see RUB's participation in NFDI) or as principal investigators in information management (INF) projects of collaborative research centers. In addition to the scientific members, the heads of the University Library, Dr. Jörg Albrecht, and IT.SERVICES, Dr. Sascha Kwasniok, are also part of the Advisory Board.

At its inaugural meeting on 4 December 2025, the board elected Prof. Dr. Silvana Botti as spokesperson for the advisory board.

Together with the newly founded RDM Network at RUB , the Advisory Board will ensure feedback on key FDM services and infrastructures with researchers at all levels and in all areas of work at RUB. The RDS team looks forward to future collaboration and valuable input from the Advisory Board.
