Research data is a crucial and valuable component of scientific projects. Questions about the legal framework surrounding the creation, collection, handling, (re)use, and publication of research data arise as early as the first independent research project: the dissertation.
To discuss these questions, staff from the University Library who are part of the Research Data Servicesteam will lead a focus session as part of this year’s Science College. The session is titled 'Who ‘owns’ the data? – Rights, Responsibilities, and Research Data in Germany'. The Science College, organized by the RUB Research School , is a one-day, interdisciplinary event that fosters exchange among doctoral candidates and promotes understanding of interdisciplinary research. This year’s theme is 'Responsibility for your own research.'
