Research Data Services (RDS) is delighted to announce the expansion of its ReSeeD team. ReSeeD is RUB's central research data repository and serves as a tool for researchers and their collaboration partners to store, share, archive, and publish research data. The repository thus supports both the backup of data in accordance with the DFG guidelines for good scientific practice and the growing requirements of funding agencies for Open Data practices.

A warm welcome to new team members

We are delighted to welcome the new members of the ReSeeD team - Devangi und Philipp (both in IT.SERVICES) - to the overall RDS team. They will support the in-housedevelopment and technical operation of ReSeeD and, with their expertise and commitment, strengthen the sustainable, needs-oriented further development of ReSeeD at RUB.

The development of ReSeeD: A milestone for RUB

ReSeeD is an open-source further development of the Hyrax software stack from the Samvera community (Source Code ReSeeD: https://gitlab.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/researchdata/rdms). From the outset, development was coordinated by Research Data Services and carried out in close collaboration with researchers, particularly from CRC 1280 and CRC 1316 at RUB, by the external service providers Antleaf and Cottage Labs.

Since 2024, 60 datasets with DOI have been published on ReSeeD. Data curation and publication management are handled by staff at the University Library, while IT.SERVICES staff are responsible for operations. The repository is managed by a mixed team from both departments. The ReSeeD team currently consists of twelve people, six of whom belong to the core RDS team.

System update in early 2026 and future plans: For better performance and user satisfaction with ReSeeD

At the beginning of next year, there will be a system updateduring which ReSeeD will only be accessible inread-onlymode for a short period of time. Further information on the exact timing and details of the update will be announced in January via our news section and our Element channel 'Forschungsdaten / Research Data'.

⭐ Stay tuned for further updates!
